First Day Back to Lifting

Aloha readers!
I have survived my first week of back to school :D hehe

I also took this opportunity to hit up the gym and lift some weightssss. No doubt, it felt good!

Sporting my black and white camo tights from abs2bfitness

Lifting weights help me feel strong, and workouts like the ones from 21 Day Fix make me feel good (probably from all the sweating).

Speaking of the 21 Day fix, I guess you can say I've diverted away from it before completing it entirely :( the last few days of work diverted my attention and energy, and I was very concerned with finishing my personal training exams.

Newest pair of tights from abs2bfitness. I have loved their tights from day 1! They always fit comfortably, no tugging and pulling required, and it's an eye-catcher when you're at the gym and out and about. Click the link above and use SELLY15 for 15% off your purchase!
This pair, specifically, is loved by the mr and mrs bumble bees D= I looked like a lunatic swatting at them as I was walking to the bus stop!

Today I wanted to talk about something that often falls into how people define themselves.
People often say "I am fat" because they feel down because they are overweight, and perhaps even have a lower self esteem and not much confidence over their own body.

However, we shouldn't let that define us. I have excess body fat that I want to shed too. But I don't / steer away from telling myself or others "I am fat". There is so much more to a person that defines who they are than simply by their outward appearance. It's a combination of what's on the outside and the inside.

For me, I am a fitness enthusiast who is always trying to do better. I am a dedicated student who puts many of my hours into studying, for dusk till dawn. I am a personal trainer with a growing passion for health and fitness, who hungers for knowledge, and wants to do what I can to help others like yourself achieve their goals. Oh, and yes, I have fat on my body too.
But that's not what defines me! And it shouldn't define you either. The point is, move forward and dig deeper to find something that shows who you truly are.

Learn to love yourself for who you are, each and every piece of it!

Cheers!

Loving Your Life and What You Do (06/13)

Take a moment to think about this, gals.
How many of your are happy with everything in your life? How many of you are satisfied with what you have achieved and don't want anymore? Probably not too many of us. But the most important part is to be happy and to enjoy the process of life.

Sure, we should all set some goals in life and work hard towards achieving them, but what is life when you can't be happy and enjoy the process of it? Not every day will be sunshine and rainbows, but those days should outnumber the not so great ones.

The title of my blog is "Lifelong Journey to Happiness". When I first created it, it was mostly about my daily adventures, things that were happening in my life, some stories, and occasional book reviews. But clearly, somewhere along the way I developed passion for fitness, working out, and lifting weights, and that has evolved into what my blog is today.

Do I enjoy posting my workouts for you guys? Yes. Do I enjoy sharing my thoughts and stories? Absolutely. Does maintaining my blog feel like a chore/job sometimes? Not going to lie, but yes. Some days I'm really tired and don't feel like updating my blog, which is okay - yet I feel a little guilty. I want to make something out of myself, and my blog. And without continuous hard work and dedication, it won't happen easily.

On the other hand, as much as I want that to happen, I'm not going to let it stop me from having fun and enjoying me life. There will be days like today where I'm all about posting things for you guys, and some days where I'd rather spend some time reading a book or laying in the sun.

But as long as I'm loving the life I'm living (besides my current job as a food server, ick), I'll keep doing it :)

Happy Friday everyone!
Cheers!

Morning Rest Day + Some Motivation (05/08)

I woke up this morning, feeling the most tension I've ever felt in my glutes, hamstrings, and quads this morning. It's a little hard to bend down and sit on the toilet xD, but it's all worth it because I know that means I've worked hard and pushed myself during yesterday's leg workout :D

Yesterday I posted about how I really disliked leg days, and never gave it my 110%.
But after yesterday's workout, I have a different perspective on leg day now :P

I pushed through the entire workout, and gave it my 110% efforts. I kept myself motivated because I know what my current goals are (not only to finish the workout without cheating my way through, but also the bikini body I have chasing after).

So here's a few pointers for motivation today:

Yesterday was a really good day, but not every day will be the same. Take it one day at a time. Believe in yourself; Wake up in the morning telling yourself that you're going to get it. You're going to do what it takes to get it. So get up of bed, think positively, and go get it!

This picture really speaks to me.

So much of your life is spent doing work; if you're not happy doing it, then why are you doing it?  Do what makes you happy. If I'm not happy doing it, then why should I continue? Instead of seeing workouts as chores, I try to envision them as valuable investments for my physical health, mental health, and overall happiness, satisfaction, and confidence for my body.

Bottom line, don't stop searching until you find what you love to do :)
