Day 9 - Rest Day - 21 Day Fix

Aloha readers 😊
Today has been a lazy Saturday for me.
I took an undecided opportunity of sleeping in today, and although it felt great I didn't feel so good for the rest of the day.

I know rest days aren't scheduled for in the 21 Day Fix, but it was needed for my mentality. It basically felt like I woke up on the wrong side of bed.

I skipped my Day 9 Dirty 30 workout, had some ice cream, and watched some TV. It was just so hard to kick out of that mentality ><

That is something I struggle the most with: I do very well for a few days, sometimes close to a week, and then I have one of these "bad days" and it feels like everything I've worked so hard for falls apart :(

This issue may have to do with my inner emotions and feelings, something I am also still learning to deal with. Hopefully as time goes on and I grow more as a person mentally, physically, and spiritually, things will get better.

Tonight's dinner is courtesy of my boyfriends auntie.

I also went grocery shopping with my mom tonight (it was much needed), and I will post about that tomorrow night / Monday, as it will be a fishing and BBQ kinda day tomorrow :)

Cheers!

Sushi!

Aloha!
Another delicious eatery-post for everyone tonight !

We went to Sushi Sugoi tonight for the first time, and the experience (minus the service) was exquisite. I'm a big fan of japanese food, both traditional and western, and I would love to go back next time.

Beef Tataki
I'm use to a sauce that is more citrus like, which this was not. But was still very good and tender!

Magma Roll
Content: Unagi eel, pollock crabmeat, cucumber, avocado, spicy mayo, siracha hot sauce
This roll was surprisingly delicious. I say surprisingly because I am not an eel fan.

Fuji Island Roll
Content: Salmon, tuna, avocado, pineapple, orange, and soybean paper
This roll was de-licious. So good. So fresh. So refreshing. I will for sure be getting this again.
The part I enjoyed the most about this roll was that it so light and refreshing - a change from other rolls that had a lot of fish or a lot of sauce. The soybean paper was extremely delicate. You basically let it touch your lips and it comes off! No pulling/ taring required!

Rising Sun Roll
Content: Red tuna (normally Ahi Tuna), avocado, tempura shrimp
This roll is a little less extravagent as the previous two, but no doubt still delicious. They didn't have Ahi Tuna tonight, so we settled for the Red Tuna replacement. There was also a little bit of sauce to garnish the roll, just enough to give it a bit of extra taste

I'm planning on going to try out another new Japanese restaurant on Wednesday, so be prepared for lots of sushi posts!!

Cheers!

Weekend Vacation

Aloha readers!

Like always, I've been busy busy with work (worked 11 days out of the 14 days), and right after that I packed my bags and went out of town with my boyfriend.

I have been planning this trip for quite a few weeks now, and I was so excited to finish work and get out of town. Almost like a couples retreat, weekend getaway.

A quick recap of the trip:

We went down Friday afternoon, and had dinner at Cattle Baron. It was my first time there, and it was actually really good. Food was reasonably priced, and the quality of the food was pretty good!

I had a 7 oz Filet Mingon with a side of Jumbo Prawn. At the table, we also shared a skillet of pan-fried mushrooms in a vinegareete sauce, and a Mac and Cheese Au Gratin. My boyfriend had a 16 oz T-Bone steak with garlic mashed potatoes and a side of veggies.

On Saturday, we went down to the Calgary Stampede for the first time.
Being an Edmontonian, I actually had a lot more fun than I expected at the Stampede. We couldn't afford the super expensive Rodeo tickets, but we still wanted to check it out!
Turns out, we can buy $15 tickets for standing room viewing! It was burning hot in the sun, but it was a nice experience.

The day also included a few beers at the beer garden, some game playing and gambling, and a whoooooole lot of food! I had been trying to eat fairly well the past few weeks because I knew I was going to over indulge at the festival - and that's exactly what I did.
Although I didn't get to try the maple glazed dought bacon cheeseburger :(  , I was still able to enjoy a lot of other foods in and out of the carnival.

Crab Cake Eggs Benny at Ricky's

Char-boiled Shrimp and Chicken Vermicelli dish from VietNam just off the Fairgrounds

Lobster Eggs Benedict from The Park Kitchen and Bar - probably the best meal (best breakfast for sure) I had this weekend. A little side of oranges and grapefruit, crispy hashbrowns, and a delicious eggs benny made with free range chicken eggs.

(Sorry for the gross picture)
How did I know it was free range chicken egg? I asked xD The egg was much more orange that the yolks I'm used to, so I asked out of curiosity. The great thing about this restaurant is that they strive to buy locally, grown and raised food and livestock. I can definitely see myself going back there next time I'm in town.

Some very memorable parts of the trip was when I had a glass of wine (which never happens because I don't drink wine) and shared a plate of yummy curry chicken pasta with my beloved boyfriend. As well as viewing The Grandstand Show.

How we came upon tickets for that is kind of funny: we were sitting at the Wine Garden, talking to the people who were passing around. This one lady approached us and tried to sell us these free tickets that she got from work. Unfortunately, the deal wasn't made. However, about half an hour later she came back and just offered the tickets to us for free! Such a nice thing for that lady to do.

Wineeeeeeeeeee

We a cute couple :)

The view of the fireworks right from our seats at the show :)

Overall, had a great blast this weekend! I look forward to more weekend getaways and heading back to Cow Town soon :)

It's Almost Friday! (Good Morning Workout)

It's almost Friday!
After a long week, we all need a good morning stretch to really wake us up and prepare us for the long day ahead.

The Good Morning Workout below is something I like to do roughly 10 minutes after I get up (after brushing my teeth and cleaning up).

Give it a try!

I haven't been working out much lately - the weather has been so so nice out, and I've been spending much of it with the people I love and cherish the most <3 (He may be pouting, but he loves me, I swear!)

Bikini Booty Summer Body (BBSB) will for sure kick off next Sunday!
If you haven't downloaded the program yet, join me in getting your bikini body this summer!

Cheers!

What to Expect in the Upcoming!

Happy Easter Weekend!

I'm back to tell you that the blog is now off hiatus - and hopefully I'll be posting on a more regular basis again! :)

So to give you guys a quick look at what's to come in the short future and further into the summer
    1. Continuation of daily workout posts - posting my daily workout routines were a big hit on the blog, so I plan on continuing to do that! I do have to admit that I spent a lot of time trying to make it look fancy and pretty, and it really wasn't time efficient. I may take another shot at it again, but sometimes keeping it nice and simple is the way to go :)

    2. Keeping some of the old things the same, I want to add new things to make the blog more exciting. For this reason, I'm going to start posting more grocery haul photos and videos, and hopefully even some fitness clothing/related item hauls (depend how tight on cash I am going to be this summer haha)

I can get a little crazy during grocery shopping, so that's always fun to watch! And what girl doesn't love shopping!!

    3. They say that the best way to represent what you do is to have and show what you're selling. I'm selling a 6 week bikini booty program right now, and I will tell you that I don't have that bikini booty. That's the whole reason I have designed this program, and the reason why I'm going to do it myself.

Sure sure, I can trial run it on myself this summer and then release it next summer, but who wants to wait another year to feel 100% comfortable and happy at the beach in their swimsuit. So that's why I am eager to get it out this summer, and to trial run it on myself to show you guys the results. The workouts are all based off of and in combination with new workouts that I've put together, so I know they work.

Here's a sneak peak at what's in the program:

The official release date will be sometime during the lats week of April, but you can pre-order it in the meantime at a discounted price

    buy

    4. There's also going to be giveaways of all sorts in the next few months, varying from food to clothing, shopping sprees, and all other possibilities! So stay tuned for more news on that!

    That's all for now everyone!
I hope you're all as excited as I am!

    Cheers!
    xoxo
